After a good night of sleep in the castle and a proper breakfast (two fried eggs!) Professor Conny puts on her rain poncho and continues her walk for chromosome 6. This morning starts with rain, but when she reaches the lake near Brouqueyran the rain stops and the sun comes out. After two days of mostly rain Professor Conny can finally take of her poncho.

She continues her walk trough the wide fields and over the voie verte, a long distances cycling path along the canal de Garonne, towards Bazas. She visits Bazas Cathedral which has an impressive front side and she receives a beautiful stamp for her pilgrims’ passport. The stamps she collects along the way will form the official prove that she completed the Camino de Santiago.

The final stop for today is near Captieux. Professor Conny walks 12 kilometres over a former railroad which is now turned into a cycling path. The men working on the path wish her good luck with her walk.
Former rail road, all straight path |
The next day Professor Conny first collects the stamp for her pilgrims’ passport in Captieux and she buys some lunch for the day. Her walk continues with another 15 kilometres along the former railroad. Again all straight path.
After a lunch break with fresh bread and sardines she crosses the border of Les Landes. The path continues straight forward.

A few kilometres before she reaches her final destination for today the path and the environment changes. Flat farmlands are alternated by small forests and winding paths. In Bourriot-Bergonce she wants to visit the roman church but it is closed, she walks to the other side of the village for her stay for tonight. Professor Conny feels empowered by all well wishes and the support she receives.
Professor Conny thanks everyone who supports her |
