More than two months ago Professor Conny started her walk, her camino, towards Santiago de Compostela. With this 1200 kilometre walk she wanted to raise money and awareness for Chromosome 6 disorders and the international research project being performed in the University Medical Centre in Groningen, the Netherlands.
A camino is ultimately about the journey, not the destination. It is about the experiences along the way. Nine weeks ago Professor Conny started her walk in La Réole, France. After four weeks she had to pause to recover from an ankle injury. Two weeks of rest did her good, and she was ready to continue her walk. Her ankle, unfortunately, was not. Her ankle injury came back, and she again needs to pause her Camino, this time for a longer period. For now Professor Conny has to get back home after all this time away from her family and friends.
Thank you for supporting Professor Conny during the past months and thank you for your generous donations.
It is still possible to donate for Professor Conny’s walk for Chromosome 6 research. Send her some support in this period while she is recovering from her ankle injury.
Professor Conny wants to complete her Camino towards Santiago de Compostela one day. So, for now, it is to be continued…
